League Rules and Expectations
Football is a team sport that requires full dedication and commitment. If football is not your child's primary sport or first commitment during the football season, he will not be considered to be on a "Black" team. Depending on grade level enrollment, a less committed player will be eligible to play on the "Green" team.
Children are expected to attend all practices, games, and scrimmages. Our league run scrimmage, held on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of August, gives all of our players an opportunity to experience their first live contact. These scrimmages are an invaluable learning experience for both the players and the coaches. Attendance at practices are crucial for learning assignments, plays, and responsibilities. We understand that life happens, if your child is going to miss a practice or game, PLEASE let your coach know ASAP. Coaching schemes and game plans may need to be altered based upon your son missing the game.
The Wildcats have a zero tolerance policy for poor parent behavior. Some examples of poor parent behavior would include: berating officials, screaming at your child from the sidelines, coaching your child from the sidelines, using foul language or profanity, drinking, smoking, or using illegal drugs, fighting with opposing parents and/or coaches. Participation in ANY of the aforementioned behaviors will result in immediate suspension or expulsion from the league.
Chain of Command:
If you have an issue, problem, or concern regarding your child that needs to be addressed, please speak to your child's head coach first. If the problem persists, feel free to contact the league's President, First Vice President, or Second Vice President.
Football is not fair. That is, not every child is going to get to run the ball or be the quarterback. The success of the team comes before the ego or accomplishments of the individual. Assembling a football team is a lot like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Every child is a piece of the puzzle that the coaching staff must properly place in order to ensure TEAM success. All children will play, how much and what position will depend upon your child's effort, skill, and coachability.
